Pengajian MIIAS

Last weekend was very busy days for my family. We hosted a two-week-regular gathering of the Indonesian Muslim Society of South Australia (MIIAS) on Sunday. Fortunately, my wife got two days-off from her workplace (i.e., Friday and Monday), four days-off in total with Saturday and Sunday, so she had a plenty of time to prepare it and to take a rest after that for while.

We should thank many people whom voluntarily helped us prepare and finish with many complicated things in the kitchen. To mention some of them, we had Mbak Nurul Ihsan, Lusi Irfan, Mbak Yanti, Mbak Rini Muchdirin, Jacky Hadi, and Mbak Rosita Arif. Appreciation is also given to many people who have kindly brought a variety of foods and drinks to share.

Asep Muhammad Iqbal was the speaker in the gathering. He presented a speech on the most recent controversial issues in Australia about Sheikh Alhilali’s statement on “Women and Uncovered Meat”. It started from 6 pm and finished at around 7.45 just before Maghrib.
